He would always joke after that all their other birthdays would be awful in comparison our choir teacher taught us a different happy birthday song that was split up in voice parts and we would always sing for people’s birthdays during choir, it was really really awesome.

I thought you were talking about the actual orchestration. The arrangement. The orchestration is actually gorgeous. One of the best arrangements of happy birthday (a pretty dull melody) that I’ve heard. David Robertson!! What an amazing conductor and human. I was in the children’s choir when he was a conductor in St. Louis. Those were the best when we sang with the orchestra. What’s even better is that the soloist is Gil Shaham. And he also happens to be the conductor’s brother-in-law (David is married to Orli, Gil’s sister)- hence the extra big smile!

I can’t speak for them specifically, but I played trombone in an orchestra and after high school, I didn’t have time or a real outlet to keep playing and other hobbies took over. 50 Years Of 1970 2020 Electric Light Orchestra Thank You For The Memories Shirt. Regular teachers will know their student’s names because they spend lots of time with them, even if not on one and with a formal introduction. A substitute teacher, however (like a guest conductor) definitely won’t know everyone, but they’ll pick up on a few kid’s names throughout the day. In this case, Maestro Robertson absolutely did know all or at least most of the players. Even though he had only spent about two weeks with the ~100-strong orchestra, the man is dedicated to his job and could call out all of the principals and most of the section players by name.
