That’s the only controversy I see. It’s a tough decision. I’d hate to be the coach who had to have that conversation with Vladdy. He probably isn’t as natural of a “captain” fit as ROR is, but if ROR had never come along, Vladdy would’ve earned it and then some. My vote would be for Tarasenko. I know some people think these things don’t matter and are superficial but to the players, they matter a lot. I think Vladdy would feel slighted were O’Reilly to be named and not him. The right choice though is Tarasenko. He’d be a leader by example and O’Reilly would serve as his right-hand man as an alternate. I may be in the minority here, but I like Schenn as the captain if we don’t resign Petro. If you look at when we were not playing well in his first season, he was the bright spot. He finishes checks, he’s gritty, and has the ability to score. I don’t know anything about his leadership obviously, but that’s the kind of guy I want to play with.

It seems like these articles are popping up once a month or so here during the slow period of no games. ROR would probably not be a bad Captain.
