While I planned to live at home Happy Have Disgusting Christmas Sweater Shirt a little longer this quarantine is pushing me to the apartment shop. I’m not sure I can afford to move out but I’m positive my mind can’t afford to stay here under these conditions. I’m a nurse with my bachelor’s degree and make 26/hours. I was partially furloughed back in March. Rent for a decent one-bedroom in the area is 1600/month. I hope this will come to a point where The majority of the country will lower rent prices to normal standards. Most places charging insane rents are still owned by banks and if no one can afford rent, someone has to fork out the mortgage payments.

It’s still not enough here in California. The average house price for something is around 700,000 where I live and work. Rent alone for something decent here takes almost 90% of my paycheck as well. The remaining paycheck isn’t even enough for groceries, insurance, and other necessities. In the past 10 years, the prices for homes have absolutely skyrocketed doubled here. I don’t choose to live with my parents because I want to, but the system is so that I have to.
