I remember the Jack Skellington Hugging Oogie Boogie Shirt being in third grade when Obama was running for president. I’m black and didn’t really know the importance (because I didn’t even know what any of it meant back then). And now I’m older and looking around wondering where that third-grade magic is about the president. I had no doubt in my mind that he was somebody special. Obama came to my college on the campaign before his first term and I still have a Hope sign from it. (It was so bizarre seeing secret service on rooftops with snipers). I was so fortunate to get to hear someone like him speak in person.

I didn’t know that the Jack Skellington Hugging Oogie Boogie Shirt music video was directed by Michael Moore. Although in hindsight, it’s fairly obvious because you see Moore himself getting arrested. As a part of the stunt where they play on the steps of the stock exchange. I don’t even know why he showed up at that thing. Obviously he was going to get grilled and grilled hard considering he spearheaded the birther movement. My only conclusion is that he is just dumb. I remember seeing a stand at a farmers market with campaign staffers having no idea who he was or what he was running for.
