With his railroading, removal of player agency, NPCs stealing the show, and in my opinion, weird and boring interpretation of WoD. In this campaign, the rest of the party went into a hedge fund in broad daylight and murdered a man in front of a crowd and got away with it with no repercussions.

The DM came to more than 3/4 of the games tired as all hell, read stuff during the middle of it, and get sidetracked all the damn time. I wanted to break the world, I wanted to play this character, I wanted to have a meaningful impact on the world. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. There was no plot. I tried to go for what plot the DM gave me hints towards That Guy’s past. When he waves away not finding anything in the past because of “story reasons”, I was almost certain it was the mass murderer’s backstory that the DM was focusing upon. I can only reply to what you’ve written and how I’ve understood it.

I’m sorry I must have missed the memo where we all agreed railroading and taking agency was a good quality in GMs now. So yes, of course, he was interested. GM’s quality speaks for itself. Which ended up causing a somewhat bad time for them because the GM didn’t care. I just don’t see how it’s a bad thing, especially in WoD. If there is any game where your personal plot can be more important to you without derailing the game it’s probably here. A good ST can manage to weave it together into a coherent story.
