There’s a difference between jugglers and circus performers. Sometimes You Just Gotta Say Chale Shirt can be the same thing but they don’t have to be. I’d say for most jugglers it’s just a fun and challenging hobby, it doesn’t have to be involved any sort of performance. Equally circus performers don’t have to be able to juggle, they just have to put on a show. I occasionally used to work with a guy who did the most amazing street show using one juggling ball and his hat (and he wasn’t doing contact stuff, although he could), but he was so captivating a performer he didn’t need anything else. Equally, I know juggling nerds who can juggle any pattern you shout at them but make it look boring. Especially boring for non-jugglers.

I’ve always said that if you want to impress jugglers, do an inverted five Sometimes You Just Gotta Say Chale Shirt ball Mills Mess or some equally bonkers pattern; but if you want to impress muggles, juggle three flaming torches. I can teach almost anyone to do the latter in about an hour, but it’s still the showiest of the two. Honestly, I think this guy wasn’t as precise, it looked sloppier. Even if he had the same costume/showmanship as the op, I still think I’d prefer the cleaner and more precise look of the op. In this case, I’d prefer simpler done perfectly than more complex but a bit messy.
